Windows 8: Boot to desktop feature

Should Microsoft add a feature that allows users to bypass tile mode and boot straight to desktop?

Yes. It is what I prefer.

No. It is not necessary. Innovate something else.

  1. On paper, they do not need to. The Start Screen is the start button. Admin tools like command prompt can be displayed on this screen by enabling it in settings. However, many users can’t get over the muscle memory from earlier iterations of Windows. It needs to be in there at least until users become more accustomed to the changes.
