The subscription does make it possible for self employed professionals or small companies to gain the resources they need to compete. However, there are a number of people who are against the leasing model (even though licensing was never full ownership as we tend to regard ownership of anything). So, it will be interesting to see if users adapt, find other tools, or stick with the older versions.
